Leicester City defender Wayne Brown incited a race row between teammates after boasting that he voted for the British National Party (BNP) in the General election.

Thirty-two year-old Wayne Brown’s future at Leicester City football club is in doubt after he boasted to teammates that he voted for the BNP in his local area of Barking where BNP leader Nick griffin stood for election; and said that ethnic minorities were “killing this country.” (www.kickitout.org: 17 May)

According to www.kickitout.org, black, Asian and mixed-race teammates went into the dressing room furious after the remarks by Brown.

Brown was suspended from the club’s Championship playoff semi-final against Cardiff and Leicester City football club released a statement saying that he was still a Leicester player and that the matter would be investigated and dealt with internally by the club.
