Maru Mora-Villalpando, a US based community organiser and mother has been served with a deportation notice despite living with her daughter in the US for over 20 years. She is one of many outspoken, undocumented campaigners – from Haiti, Trinidad, Central and Latin America — targeted by the Trump administration as part of its attacks against immigrant communities. Deportations have risen by nearly 50% as a result.

The London protest is organized by Women of Colour in the Global Women’s Strike, the All African Women’s Group and Payday men’s network. It is part of international actions. On 4 February, North West Detention Center Resistance organise a People’s Tribunal in front of the detention centre. Other actions are taking place in México City, Madrid, Valencia, Pennsylvania, California . . . “Millions worldwide are fleeing war, genocide and starvation caused by the policies of the US and other Western governments and corporations.
